Mission Statement

R Energy’s technology is the culmination of extensive research and testing; creating a viable, cost effective electric and thermo facility meeting current regulatory and community environmental requirements:

  • The system can be fueled by a variety of local biomass fuels and common reoccurring waste materials, including manufacturing and/or commercial waste, Biohazardous medical/drug wastes and selected municipal solid wastes (MSW). Depending on the fuel used the solid residue can qualify as a soil additive (alkaline) or be used as construction material.

  • With thermo energy recovery efficiency of greater than 90%, community power with thermo energy HVAC for buildings, hydroponic greenhouses, aquaculture facilities and industrial processes. Other applications include the generation of low pressure steam/hot water, producing high value gases and making dry ice.

  • Electrical power produced within the range of 100 EKW-HR to 1 EMW-HR can be used in local “mini-grids,” for charging electric vehicles or increasing wind/solar farms sustainable EKWH-HR delivery levels.

  • The system can be operated as stand-alone at a fixed site or truck/container mounted for mobile or international locations. This includes military or disaster relief activities, corporate compounds and in underdeveloped countries.

Scientific staff

Richard E Rinehart – Chairman/CEO

Richard Rinehart is President of the company and its founder. Mr. Rinehart previously worked for ABB Robotics as V.P. Sales & Marketing (robot systems) and Sony/Nissho Iwai FA as General Manager (factory automation), W.A. Whitney Corp as V.P. Marketing/International Operations (machine tools) and Flow International Corp as Program Manager for start-up of a new internet based parts business.

As an independent consultant, he spent two years working with a Japanese company in their development of a “Plasma Pyrolysis System” for destruction of medical waste. From this experience, the idea for the new company, using American technology for the controlled fuel/waste elimination cycle, heat transfer, electric power generation and thermo products components of the system were developed, to market requirements of simple low maintenance systems that are economically viable.

His background of growing up on a farm, becoming a “Tool & Die” maker followed by college education prepared him to think and work with logical clear purpose. Successful business work experiences in machine tools, high growth companies, international business and the consulting industry have qualified him to lead the formation and development of the company. The engineering experiences in manufacturing of machine tools, material handling systems and robotics assembly has influenced the system design for manufacturing with interchangeable parts/modular sub-assemblies, complete factory certification and simple installation cycles.

James C. Noe – Engineering Design

James is a thermodynamicist with many years of experience working with both aerospace and commercial companies developing innovative solutions for energy applications.

Currently he is President, jcnengineering, a design and development consulting firm that works on low cost thermodynamic development projects for commercial and military applications. Earlier as President of the design firm NOMAC Energy Systems, which was later sold and became Capstone Turbine Corporation, he conceived the original concept for the Capstone Turbine.

Mark Horne – Environmental Consultant

Mark is a P.E. and founding partner in Environmental Partners, an environmental compliance firm that are experienced in cost effective environmental compliance strategies that achieve sound solutions to complex environmental issues.

He specializes in air quality, hazardous waste management and multi-media environmental compliance. His practice includes petroleum refineries, power plants, steel mills, ethanol production facilities, pharmaceutical, agricultural and hazardous/pathological waste facilities.

Wil Dutt – Power Generation

Wil Dutt is a “CHP” (Combined Heat and Power) engineer, with over 40 years of application and sales experience in Power Systems with Caterpillar and their Northwest Dealer, NC Machinery. He has designed and sold diesel and natural gas generation systems including heat recovery equipment for hundreds of installations as large as 50 MW for both prime and standby requirements throughout all industries in the Northwest. Wil is experienced at working with many regulatory and government groups, in siting, designing and selling in a very competitive market.
